| I tried to find who said this because it sounds like something someone famous would have said, but no such luck.  I posted it anyway.  I really like this quote.  I mean... it has two ways of looking at getting dressed in the morning.  One way is to always wear a "good" outfit because you never know what may happen.  The other is (and this is how I see it) to dress well and make sure every day is not insignificant.  I have this fear that my life will be completely insignificant, except for my kids.  I think it's why I shop, to make me feel more important maybe.  Kind of a "the more you have the better you'll feel" complex.  Not a good complex to have my friends.  I guess it's better than having a drinking or gambling problem though, right?  And, is it really a problem if it's under control?  I don't know.  I do know, it's day 31 and I haven't bought anything new!!!  Yay me!!! |
i am reading this!! i went through a similar simplification in my life about 5 years ago, i think i have come full circle- be weary, you will have to shop one day, mine was a flood and i freaked out and went so extreme on no shopping my clothes started falling apart, i think i have found a happy medium- good luck and i am enjoying your journey as it is supporting my on mine (i love shoes the most)
